My son has had schizophrenia for 10 years and is mostly noncompliant with the medication regimen. Even when he is compliant it doesnt seem to help much other than making him sluggish, heavy and unable to function. It takes away the terror but does not really allow him to live a "normal" life I have begun investigating some alternative treatments such as orthomolecular treatment, Edgar Cayce wet cell Battery, and nutritional protocols that address the whole person. I would like input from others on their experiences and what they found to be helpful in addition to medications, also caregivers impressions on the current treatments being offered for this devastating disease.
In my experience I have only seen Homeopathy work in schizophrenia and by working I mean curing not just an endless line of medicines all life long. The person was given remedies one after the other according to his individual symptoms and he was cured in about 3 months and this was a case of more ten 30 years standing with no relief just stupor created by conventional useless drugs.
You asked if Alternative medicine works in schizophrenia, I would say Yes it does !
Take care and God Bless !
It all over the place. We have all been through it. In a good way or a bad way. But why should an attitude such as intolerance be accepted in school when Its unacceptable everywhere else? In general : Parents are not sever enough on those kind of attitudes, they think that its just a phase of childhood and their kids will get over it. But I think not
If the parents do nothing about and just tell them its normal at their age, the aggressive kids will grow aggressive and they will keep putting the fat kid with glasses, the nerd, the pimpled, and even the kid with mental difficultied head-first in the garbage can, or locked up in the locker, they will still tax them.
Childhood should not be like that, victims have a really low self-esteem. They just end up in depressions, with a traumatic nevrose or schizophrenia. Sometimes, They suicide. Everybody says: Nobody wants you here, Shut Up Moron!, Youre so fat that you could eat a cow on your own. Hey nerdypants!. Give me your money!
Do you think that is a lifestyle a child wants. Every saturday night, the kid is in his bed, crying that he has no friends to play with, if he is lucky, he can invent one. The telephone never rings, its silent, just like his room. Every meal at school, he ate it alone in the bathroom. After school, he saves a snack, but its not for him, its for the cool kids.
Every week, 1 kid out of 10 is victim of aggression, and most of the time, its the same kid. Its the same in Canada, China, Italy, Spain, France, Japan, everywhere. In Australia, its 1 out of 6.
The aggressors mostly get out of trouble by saying. ''We were just kidding'', or ''I am sorry''…And then hitting the kid for having told on him…the kid fears, he is not going to tell anyone this time.
As a victim myself, I went on a huge depression, I had not smiled in a year, thinking about death, all the time. Asking myself if it wouldnt be a better place if I did not exist. Nobody liked me because I was chubby. They hurt me
A way. I think, is if we put all the socially rejected kids, and the popular kids (Who often are aggressive because of their social status) together, under surveillance, for a couple of days, in class maybe, and they start talking and socializing, maybe they would stop being such intolerant kids because hes different
Please, if you find this question interesting, star it. I think this should be in the featured questions, because its something that is in everyschool and makes many kids suffer.
I blame mostly the parents of the bullies. Unfortunately the schools will not do anything for fear of being sued by the low life adults. The only way it can be addressed is if the good parents get together and force the school to do something about it or else the parents will take it to the next level. Meaning the local news.
I think I have Bipolar..but am not sure becuse all the checklists I’ve done have been for adults. I’m only fourteen..
Any advice from personal experience?
*Because
*sigh*
I hate spelling mistakes..
I knew that people would say that! I'm not saying that I do have Bipolar, but my symptoms are extreme even for my age and definitely not normal.
No, the symptoms of Bipolar disorder are relatively the same in teens. The only trouble with symptoms is narrowing it down to Bipolar disorder. Often manic depression and extreme euphoria are hormonal. I have depression and I am 16… Everyone thought it was hormonal.
The symptoms are very similar, the only difference is whether the doctor can make the correct diagnosis.
If you need to talk to someone, I am here, just e-mail me.
I hope you get better soon!
My meds are running out and I don’t have insurance because I just moved to a new state and I don’t have any money to get insurance so I was wondering, what are ways to deal with bipolar disorder without being on meds? Is there any way possible that I can control my moods without being on medications?
You need to be on your medication. Contact your local MHMRA (mental health mental retardation association) . It should be listed in your phone book. They will have programs available to assist you with obtaining medication at little or no cost depending on your income.
Trying to control your moods without medication is useless. When you are in a manic state, you won’t be aware of the poor judgment and poor impulse control that you will experience. This will lead to problems that you don’t want to have to deal with.
You can also call 1-800-784-2433. They have trained counselors available 24/7 who can help you find resources in your local area.
Good luck and remember you are worth the time, energy and money it will take to treat your disorder for a healthy future.

No Way!! I don't believe half the weird answers I get on here..lol
Sorry I haven't written you back yet. Been super busy lately. Have you tried the xanax? Klonopin is good too. Both have with drawls though if you get used to taking them when you want to wean off. I noticed the klonopin was harder to get off of for some reason for me. But both work good for anxiety. Hope yours is getting a little better now.
